15/04/2006 08:15:24 AEST Indonesian police on the run since Papuan riots
Indonesia
In Depth

Indonesian police say 19-people are still on the run, following last month's riots in the province of Papua in which six-people were killed.

Papua's chief detective says four of the fugitives, described as the ring-leaders are suspected of being responsible for the deaths of five security officers in the riot on March-the-16th.

Hundreds of protestors demanding the closure of a gold mine operated by a subsidiary of the U-S mining giant Freeport clashed with security forces.

Four-paramilitary policemen, an airforce officer, and a civilian were killed.

The clash followed weeks of protests over the world's largest gold and copper mine.
